Current success stories within PE

Summer 2017 was a season of success for Tibshelf athletes. We were crowned District Champions for Year 7 Girls Sportshall athletics, District Champions for both boys and girls’ teams athletics and QuadKid champions for Years 7 and 8. Many of our students also set new District Athletics Records during 2017.

One of our current Year 11 students is a high-flyer in several different athletic disciplines. Although her main event is the 80m hurdles, for which she is currently ranked 14th in the country, she excels in long jump, triple jump and the hepthalon where she continued to set PBs throughout the summer 2017 season. She performed at English Schools’ in her favoured 80m hurdles event in July 2017 and has recently competed for the Derbyshire team in the Heptathlon.
